Prologue:
After many revisions, some posted to my website and many others left in a notebook, I have decided on using my transition into college blog post as a theme for my Adaptive Mindset Paper. The title A Growth Mindset In Progress clearly depicts what stage I am in with adapting to the adoption of a growth mindset theory. I would like to say I worked solo on this paper, but looking back I did not. I took criticism from classmates, family, and my professor and created my paper on a new topic. As I tried to revise my original draft 1 that I loved, I created draft 2 which I hated. The revisions took place after peers telling me they were lost in the details I provided, and feeling the third party did not fit well. I personally loved the third party for the fact that it read like a story. Only after being able to go through the pain of being completely honest with myself, I realized my story showed resourcefulness, and intelligence. The theme of a growth mindset is to show embracing of mistakes and learning valuable lessons. To search for a higher meaning of our world and not feeling embarrassed for failing, but to feel accomplished of the fail. For the fail will provide a lesson to move forward with a greater understanding. Neither draft 1 or 2 showed the true meaning, nor for that fact do I believe I have a firm presentation in my life stories depicting a growth mindset. So in the fail of my first and second draft the transition to college grabbed my thought process. I began writing at work and my ideas were all over the place, but I knew I had a spark which leads to draft 3. However, I had to keep in mind that this was my third draft posted draft on the paper. I revised several times before I posted. The paper took about a week or so before I felt confident enough in the genre to post for others to view. As with any piece of writing A Growth Mindset In Progress is still a work in progress with many more deadlines to meet.
